Sports Illustrated's Peter King spent some time at Patriots camp last week, and one thing that stuck out to him is how often running back Shane Vereen @ShaneVereen34 was involved in the offense. King said "Vereen is going to get a lot of touches from the look of things."
Vereen has been moving around the formation during camp and in OTAs, and King believes that he is "the kind of multiple weapon that (offensive coordinator) Josh McDaniels can use to call a lot of different kinds of plays."

Fantasy Analysis:

New England is looking for ways to replace Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Lloyd, Wes Welker, etc. Vereen is a good runner, receiver and blocker, and the Patriots have always loved utilizing a player's flexibility to the fullest -- remember when Hernandez lined up in the backfield at times a couple of years ago? Stevan Ridley remains the team's No. 1 running back, but it sounds like Vereen is a good bet for double-digit touches per week. He could be a solid flex play in all leagues.
