The positive is that running back Le'Veon Bell's mid-foot sprain is only that. A Lisfranc sprain has been ruled out. But how long Bell will be out of action appears to be anyone's guess at the moment. Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, an outstanding Steelers beat writer, tweeted Tuesday night that Bell could be sidelined "for awhile." Bell injured his right foot after just four carries in his preseason debut on Monday night.
Fantasy Analysis:
It's not the worst thing that could have come out of Tuesday's MRI, but it doesn't sound great either. Right now, I have a hard time believing Bell will be healthy by Week 1. Mid-foot sprains usually don't heal in 18 days, which is what remains between now and Pittsburgh's season opener on Sept. 8. I think Bell can still be drafted as an RB2, but I'm expecting Isaac Redman to be the Steelers' starter in that game.
