Pardon me for not paying more attention to the quarterback battle between Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne. But for those of you on the edge of your seat waiting for a result, we have one: Gabbert is the Jaguars' starting quarterback. Head coach Gus Bradley announced that on Monday.
Interestingly, Bradley also said in the same press conference that Gabbert won't play again in the preseason because he has a hairline fracture in his right thumb that will keep him out of action for two weeks but doesn't require surgery.
Gabbert completed 13 of 16 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown Saturday versus the Jets. Henne completed just four of his 10 throws in that game.
Fantasy Analysis:
Henne said it was disappointing to lose the competition, but he shouldn't get too down. Given that this is Blaine Gabbert we're talking about, Henne will probably be starting at some point this season. I don't need to tell you to avoid this situation ... but I just did anyway.
