49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick @Kaepernick7 and tight end Vernon Davis @VernonDavis85 were so far off from being on the same page last year, they probably weren't reading the same book. Davis caught six passes from Kaepernick for 61 total yards over the last five games of the 2012 regular season. However, their chemistry together grew in the playoffs and now, according to CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, it is "seemingly unstoppable."
Maiocco writes that a laser-like pass down the seam from Kaepernick to Davis, who has blown past defenders, for 25 yards or more has become the play that defines 49ers training camp.
"Last year when [Kaepernick] first got the starting job, we'd be at practice and he'd keep overthrowing me," Davis said. "I'd be running as fast as I possibly could and Colin just kept overthrowing me. Now we get out there and it's night and day. He puts the ball right there. Man, he's come a long way. I'm very impressed."

Fantasy Analysis:

We have heard this kind of story about these two for most of the summer. There are concerns about Kaepernick's receiving corps as a whole -- perhaps Jon Baldwin can soothe those concerns a little bit -- but I think Davis is prepped for a huge year as Kaepernick's top target. As I have said here many times before, Davis should follow only Jimmy Graham and maybe Rob Gronkowski off of the TE draft board.
