Broncos tight end Joel Dreessen underwent a scope to clean out his left knee back in May. And he'll have to do it again. Dreessen has suffered a setback in his recovery and will have that knee cleaned out again, a source told USA Today Sports on Sunday. He is expected to miss the rest of training camp. Dreessen had been practicing throughout camp, but he was held out of Saturday's scrimmage due to pain in the knee.
Fantasy Analysis:
If only the Broncos had more receivers....
Dreessen is a blocker first, pass-catcher second. He's mostly a red-zone weapon when he goes out on routes, but he doesn't produce enough to be considered for your team.
With Jacob Tamme currently missing time because of a quadriceps injury, Julius Thomas is the Broncos' top tight end right now. He's another former college basketball player who made it to the NFL despite limited football experience because of his athleticism. Injuries have shut him down in his first two seasons, but the 25-year-old could a name to watch.
